Finding glass panels and shower glass for a custom shower can be challenging. Did you know that glass in a shower has to be tempered? This means that a technician will measure your shower opening, draw up the custom shower glass, and then order it from one of our shower glass suppliers. The glass will be cut to size and the edges will be polished as well as any required holes drilled in the glass before it is tempered. Then the glass is put into an oven and baked at a very high temperature. After baking the glass is removed and allowed to cool and we then have a tempered shower glass that is much stronger than regular glass. The down side is that the glass can no longer be altered, or changed. It is no longer possible to trim a little bit off of the glass. This is the reason that the measuring and drawing process is very critical. When you hire Schmidt Glass Company we take the stress out of it.
